Why 2015 Will be a Huge Year for Real Estate

“Roughly 42 percent of millennials say they want to buy a home in the next one to five years…As this generation matures, they will become a home-buying force to be reckoned with.” – Dr. Stan Humphries, Zillow chief economist

Welcome to 2015, the year many home-buying experts like Humphries expect millennials to enter the housing market in a big way.

I am mortgage lender who specializes in home loans for millennials (born between 1980 and 2000) and first-time homebuyers in Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Chesapeake. I want to remain your #1 resource about the homebuying process.

In 2014, I made a point in every e-newsletter to focus on millennials. I also:

– wrote columns about millennials and homebuying for Inside Business andHRRA Magazine.

– created an ebook called “15 Things Millennials Want from the Homebuying Process.”

– spoke to young professional groups, including one inside Norfolk Southern, about what it takes to buy a home.

In 2015, I will continue to write for HRRA magazine as its expert on millennials and mortgages. I also wrote a column about terms people should understand when buying a home, which was featured in Tidewater Women magazine. The mortgage industry changes every day, and I know how to best work with other young people to obtain a loan.

I follow the student debt issue closely and understand how it can hold millennials back. I also stay updated on federal and state legislation that could make it easier for them to buy a home.

Millennials are my specialty, and in 2015 they will become everyone’s top priority.
